It's important to position students for success with the work habits they will need.

Below are links to samples of Great Hybrid Learner Rubrics. This is something a teacher could introduce to students at any transition point, perhaps with some self-assessment activities around it. (In kinder, you might just tackle a row a day!) The rubrics support planning and preparation.

1. Select a level and use the button below to access the rubric on MyQPortal. (You will need your log in credentials.) As you read through the rubric, consider how you could use it with teachers to support a stronger Classroom Environment. Note that the Practitioner column reflects what a teacher could expect every student to accomplish. Above-and-beyond performance would be in the Expert ("Got It!") column.

2. Decide what would work for your WPPS students and teachers; what needs to be modified, deleted, or added? Some questions that you may want to explore:

• Which rows address a challenge that your teachers are experiencing? How might a rubric like this create a venue for them to ensure students have the needed skills and dispositions?

• How might a teacher roll out the rubric across the year? How might it change across the year?

• How might a teacher change the rubric for special education students? How might a teacher change the rubric for English Language Learners?

• How can you help teachers ensure there is a progression across the levels?
